ALTAR SERVERS

We have 4 Servers at the Sunday morning Mass and 3 or 4 at the Sunday evening Mass. Servers, boys and girls who have done their First Communion are welcome to join. The Coordinator makes up the schedules, usually a month or two in advance. The Altar Servers Coordinator is Adele van Vliet
- here you'll find the altar servers schedule. For those who are interested in knowing a little more about what precisely altar servers actually do, have a look at their illustrated instruction book HERE

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

As with the other Ministries of the Church we have an existing body of those who carry out the duty of Eucharistic Minister. They are scheduled on a rotational basis by the Coordinator Bridget Anderson. In addition to assisting the Pastor at the regular services, they do occasionally conduct services themselves and assist in taking communion to the sick. Workshops are offered for the ministers and we do require that ministers are prepared for their office through these courses..
- here you'll find the eucharistic ministers schedule.

FLOWERS

Floral decoration is always associated with churches, and ours is no exception. Cheryl Carr (070-386 3418) coordinates the decoration of our worship space and would welcome help from experts and enthusiastic amateurs alike. This is an area also where younger members of the parish could perhaps think of developing their artistic skills. If you would like to sponsor the altar flowers for a particular weekend then contact Cheryl.

LECTORS

If you have a clear reading voice and feel you could contribute to the Lector team then contact one of the Coordinators, Jan van Waning, Janete Bloemen, or David Williams. Workshops are organised occasionally to help lectors improve and enhance their public speaking skills.
- here you'll find the lector schedule.

liturgy committee

This committee meets regularly to plan and coordinate the details of our worship throughout the Church year. In this way the Committee helps to prepare the liturgical celebrations and to organise the practical side of all that involves worship. The committee also plans parish retreats and days of recollection.

MUSIC/CHOIRS

The Church Choirs are always more than happy to have new members. The Sunday morning Choir is led by Mikae Natsuyama, who is also the overall Music Coordinator. It practises every Sunday before Mass. The Sunday evening Choir is led by Vivien Khouw. If you are at all interested in music, why not come along? Experienced choristers are obviously welcome, but if you don't read music, but do enjoy singing, we'd still be equally happy to see you. Our Children's Choir - COS Kids - rehearses and prepares songs for special services and events at the church. The contact for this choir is Kim van Zijp The church also has a team of organists.

PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK

This ranges from the taking of communion to those who are too ill to come to church, to the provision of Pastoral Counselling in times of trouble. A small team of experienced parishioners assists Fr Sjaak in these areas.

USHERS

This group is an especially important Ministry for our Church, with its international and transient congregation. The members are there to welcome people and to provide information on a whole host of activities and events to parishioners, both new and established. Also, in our often very crowded church, they help people to find seats and generally assist in the logistics of organising the services. New volunteers are always very welcome.
